Types of Arthritis that Affects The Joints


What is a Joint?
Joints are areas in which you structure skeleton joined together. Examples of common joints where the pain experienced is hip, knee, and elbow. Where joint moves come together, there is cartilage, gum tissue that allows the bones to move smoothly together and prevents friction between bones. Good joint health is very important, especially for active individuals who use these joints excessive and every day. Caring for these joints now can help prevent pain and discomfort as you get older.

Arthritis and joints
There are different types of arthritis that affects the joints, but there are three of the most common:

Gout, Osteoarthritis, and arthritis.
Gout - type of arthritis is commonly found in the toe area. It is caused by excessive buildup of uric acid in the joints, and often very painful. With treatment, both the pain and disability caused by uric acid can be reduced.

Osteoarthritis - a very common form of arthritis and is usually experienced with age. Types of arthritis occurs when the cartilage is damaged over time and disappeared. When this occurs, a "lubricant" for missing joints and bones rub together. It usually causes pain and swelling in the area.

Arthritis - a very painful form of arthritis that is caused by the immune system actually attacks the tissues of the joints as if the disease. Common symptoms of Rheumatoid arthritis is swelling, pain, and stiffness in the joints. Finally, it can lead to loss of function. In addition to these problems, individuals may also experience fatigue and nausea attacks. It also can cause additional complications in organs, such as lungs and heart.

Chiropractic Care for Your Joints
Each different type of pain, so you will need to have an assessment done by a licensed chiropractor. After the initial examination, the doctor will be present with the treatment schedule for your joints. For example, let's assume you are experiencing pain in your knee. The doctor will manipulate both the knee and surrounding areas experiencing limited movement to improve your overall mobility. In many cases, the doctor will also recommend some type of therapeutic massage or trigger point therapy to help relieve the pain and stiffness.

On your part, icing the area after the regular program activities will help to reduce inflammation and reduce overall pain and limit muscle spasms caused by joint pain. Most likely, you will also be given some basic exercises that will help improve the mobility of the knee as well as helping to prevent injuries in the future.
