Food for Relaxation
We are talking about the best foods to lose weight, people who give a boost when you exercise, and people who repair and filling muscles as they break down. All important for better health, as in every one of these examples of proper diet will make healthy organs and stronger muscles and connective tissue. But there are other areas that food can help our overall health: work them foods that help us relax into our diet.
When we discuss food for relaxation, we can mistakenly think that certain foods give a soothing effect when in fact have the opposite effect. We are talking about having an alcoholic drink to relax, but it stimulates the body to produce the same hormones we produce when under stress. Others, such as caffeine in coffee or caffeinated soda, stimulates the nervous system. Foods high in sugar causes insulin spikes that cause fatigue, and salty foods cause fluid retention, which leads to the heart and blood pressure problems. All should be avoided when we try to wind down and relax.
There are certain foods that fit into the category of food-casual:
1. Oatmeal. Oats are rich in vitamin B6 and melatonin. The first is an anti-stress vitamin and stairs is a natural hormone that helps promote sleep. Just make sure that it is not loaded with sugar or other unhealthy additions.
2. Green tea. It will have some caffeine, although not at the level of coffee, but more than compensates with an amino acid called L-theanine, a natural stress-reliever. This will act as a natural mood enhancer to stimulate the production of alpha brain waves, which we emit when we are in a more relaxed state. In addition, green tea is known to reduce high blood pressure.
3. Bananas. People who do a lot of endurance training to know the benefits of bananas due to high levels of magnesium and potassium. These nutrients are natural muscle relaxers, and before we can relax the whole body we must ensure our muscles relax.
4. Celery. Even in ancient history celery known as an antidote to stress, most people do not think about grabbing a stalk of celery to calm their nerves. But there is a definite correlation with celery ability to reduce hypertension and relaxation, and eating celery on a regular basis will lower high blood pressure.
5. Salmon and other cold water fish. It's all about the omega-3 fats, which has so many health benefits. Another one is to increase serotonin levels while reducing the production of cortisol and adrenaline, which is known to promote anxiety.
6. Milk. People take a glass of warm milk before bed because it contains tryptophan, and when that converts into serotonin helps us sleep. Low-fat milk is much better overall, and calcium and vitamin D have allegedly also reduce anxiety and depression.
These are some foods that will put you into a certain state of mind. This does not mean that anyone wants to live 24/7 in a state of constant happiness, but there are times when we would have to wind down and relax. By doing so through a healthy diet instead of popping pills is certainly a better way to go.
Being able to have control over how we feel is always a good thing, and if we could use a healthy food in our meal planning to regulate our moods, which will help us live happier and healthier.
