Healthy Pink Gums
It is impossible to have healthy teeth if your gums are not healthy. Your gums are what keep the attachment teeth to your jaw bone. A basic knowledge determine whether your gums healthy will help you from obtaining a more serious problem with the whole system of your mouth. A healthy gum tissue is pink and not have any inflammation. Pain, redness, and swelling are signs of unhealthy gums. Here are 3 secrets to a healthy pink gums.
1. Both the over-all dental and oral habits. Brushing your teeth after meals or at least twice a day will reduce plaque formation if done the right way. Choose a toothbrush with soft bristles that will not be too hard on the teeth and with rounded edges to clean even areas that are difficult to reach in your mouth. There are toothpastes today that already have active bleach and mouthwash. Brushing technique should be up and down stroke, which is what a dentist would normally suggest.
You should brush your tongue to remove bacteria and gently massaging your gums. Regular flossing should be done but must be done carefully so as not to injure the gums. A mouthwash will increase the possibility of eliminating most of the bacteria that cause bad breath. You will easily recognize gum disease when your gums bleed easily and when you have bad breath that does not go away.
2. Vitamins and Diet. Vitamin C helps to build healthy gums. Lack of vitamin C leads to gum disease such as gingivitis and tooth enamel to weaken. Your system does not produce vitamin C themselves so that daily oral doses required. A diet rich in vitamin C will help in maintaining healthy gums. High sugar content of some foods can be settled at the mouth and produce plaque and bacteria that could give gum disease. Soda and other forms of drink has more sugar. It is good advice to avoid too many sweets, but when you eat them, be sure to brush your teeth immediately.
3. An appointment with a dentist. Have enough knowledge to recognize not only how healthy gums but also the appearance of symptoms of early or advanced gum disease is beneficial. Regular visits to the dentist will ensure healthy teeth and gums that receives the most appropriate dental care.
Gum disease can be avoided if you are firm in doing things that will provide a healthy pink gums. Most of the causes of the disease can be avoided. However, there are times when you just can not. It is good advice to learn to deal with it at an early stage. If you notice symptoms such as pain, red, painful, and swollen or inflamed gums with persistent bad breath, you need to go to the dentist and receive immediate gum and oral care.
