Benefits of Hunger
Most of us suffer from hunger as anything but fun. When the pain of hunger, most of us experience them as enemies. Often hunger makes us confused, tired, and irritable. Worst of all; hunger may cause us to overeat, or eat candy and other junk food. Under the influence of terrible famine, we fear we will lose control of our dietary discipline, and stuff ourselves with food. So we learn to fear starvation itself.
But there is another side of starvation. Fasting person experienced and many athletes know that there is a strong side and beneficial to starve. Starvation can be made into our friend, and a very good friend indeed, that not only can help us lose weight, but it can also help us to strengthen and heal our bodies. I will show in this article how we can use the power of hypnosis to help create this new relationship famine.
Hundreds of medical studies have proven that when the body is fasting, (Skipping one or more foods) naturally do a lot of healing functions. Here are some of the physical benefits of fasting:
-Resting Digestive system, and makes it possible to balance the digestive enzymes, probiotics (healthy bacteria, which is important for digestion), break and rebuild the walls and membranes of muscle, as well as disposing of waste.
-Cleansing Organs and the entire circulatory system of both normal toxins that are a byproduct of a healthy metabolism, and harmful environmental toxins that surround us.
-Rebuilding Muscle, connective tissue, and organ - most experts agree this can only be done when we are fasting or sleeping.
-Activating Immune system to fight bacterial and viral infections, tumors, and other parasites.
-Reestablishing Healthy blood sugar balance. This is why fasting has for centuries been recommended for diabetics.
-For Those who need to lose weight, skipping a meal when done as part of the program managed carefully can be very effective.
Yes, these are the benefits of fasting, which can start adding even by skipping just one meal per week. These benefits are shown to lead to greater health and longevity. As one example, medical researchers have determined that when laboratory rats given only 50% of the food they usually eat, they live healthier, and live 40% longer than mice that same lab on a regular diet. For more information about the benefits of fasting, I suggest writing Paavo Airola, one of the great figures in the field of holistic nutrition and cleansing diets, and works by Ed Bauman, professor of nutrition in Sonoma County California. Or find a naturopathic doctor or nutritionist in your area to assist you in creating a program that is right for you.
But there is also happiness fasting. Once we can overcome panic reactions many of us associate with hunger, fasting can actually be an enjoyable experience. Like many other experienced fasters, I found that in a state of mild hunger I feel good. Here is some of what it was like.
Once the body's blood sugar reached its equilibrium state, we are much more energy when the digestive system a rest. I find it easier to climb, rock climbing, and walking for a mile when I fast, or at least eat very little.
In light of the food shortages senses and emotions become very acute. While this sensitivity might be uncomfortable in some environments, I found my senses increased sight, hearing, and smell become generally quite pleasant. While in the country increased, the whine of a motorcycle engine grates very annoyed. But this is more than compensated for by the extraordinary beauty of a symphony on the CD player or the sun shimmering on the water of the lake across the street. I became very acute sense of smell, so every walk outdoors brings a symphony of delicious fragrances. (Thank God some of my pollen and mold allergies, and chemistry has been cured with hypnosis!) I suspect that this sensory acuity, especially for aroma, an ancient adaptation. After all when our bodies are hungry all our senses turn to help our body in search of food.
Once my body achieve balance I find it easy to call and communicate with my inner guide. There is something about fasting that opens the higher spiritual channels. The special qualities of fasting has been in the literature of the mystics and saints for at least 2000 years, and as true now as it was then.
Ironically, the main benefits of fasting is a reduction in the symptoms of hunger. I had always been obsessed with food, and suffers frequent and disturbing cravings. I almost can not go two hours without food, which I justified by my self diagnosis of hypoglycemia. Once I became comfortable with being a little hungry, and take a 20 minute nap instead of a sweet treat when I'm tired, I feel the shackles of addiction to food has been removed from the mine. Now most of the day I do not even think about food. And boy, there's a lot more fun than food for thought about!
So how hypnosis can help us to move from hunger as the enemy of hunger as a constant companion? Let me count the ways.
First, we can use hypnosis to speak directly to the stomach, let it know that a little hunger is a good thing, and ordered to relax on command.
We can also use regression to access memories of hunger associated with pain, fear, abuse or neglect. We can then save the inner child from traumatic experiences. Then we teach children that their inner adult self is with them during their brief experiences of fasting to give love and additional warranty. This can help eliminate hunger strong emotional reactions.
When you feel hungry painful, you may feel the need to drink fluids, especially hot tea or fruit juice diluted with half strength with water. Some vitamin and mineral supplements, or even liquid food, can also help put your hunger feelings to bed while speeding up your body's recovery ability. This gives a relaxed feeling of abdominal fullness and raised blood sugar very soft, all without disrupting the healing process and sensory / spiritual power of fasting. Hypnosis can be used to reinforce healthy habits.
So, if you are ready to enjoy the benefits of hunger, ask your nutritionist for ideas about how to make a meal skipping work for you. If you have a serious illness, fasting could even be a big part of the solution, as long as you cooperate with a naturopathic doctor and your regular doctor. And hypnotherapist can help the whole process of healing your illness, as well as making fasting process easier and more convenient for you. Enjoy your body fasting..give gift of health ... and give you the gift of joy consciousness.
