The Physical Effects of Sleep Deprivation


The effects of sleep deprivation is more psychological than those who are physically. But this does not mean that one should not focus on the physical effects of sleep deprivation. Both the hormones leptin and ghrelin are affected are those. Leptin is one that affects a person's feeling of fullness and satisfaction after every meal. Ghrelin on the other hand stimulate the appetite. That being said, when people suffer from lack of sleep, leptin levels fall and ghrelin levels rise. This then leads to the main physical effects insomnia condition - weight.
