Side Effects of Oversleeping


Most medical professionals recommend about 7 to 9 hours for a normal amount of sleep a person has to accept every night. Of course, the amount of time people spend sleeping may vary by individual based on age or overall lifestyle. If you consistently tired after you wake up from a full night's rest, and barely able to stay awake during the day, you may have a serious condition known as Hypersomnia.

Hypersomnia is a medical disorder that causes a person to have repeated episodes of sleepiness during the day and night. Like a Rip Van Winkle, you really can sleep your life away without being able to function otherwise. For obvious reasons, one can not have a normal life if this situation continues. In some reported cases, people with this disorder are forced to fall asleep while working, eating or even when conversing with others. Additionally, hypersomnia can cause difficulties in mental processes, slow speech patterns, and lead to higher cases of anxiety, irritability and memory loss.

There can be some side effects of oversleeping and has been tied to heart disease, diabetes and other health conditions. These disorders may also increase mortality by disrupting the normal function of the body and reduces the body's ability to exercise.

Decreased energy and mental focus will start laying depression, and decreased physical activity. This can lead to further health problems and should be treated by a health care professional. Although this condition is not known as insomnia, it is still a debilitating condition that can wreak havoc on individuals and their family members.

If you feel these conditions more extreme than your situation, you should consider yourself lucky that you only feel tired after a normal day and wanted to re-energize. Normal fatigue can be overcome through regular exercise and a healthy diet. Additionally, you can also start a regimen of meditation techniques that utilize brain entrainment as a method for increasing energy levels.

By listening to the rhythmic tones or binaural beats, you can synchronize your mind and body become more in line with each other to improve morale and begin to live every day. This technique can help you become more focused, and rejuvenated in defining goals and objectives of your life.

In short, you probably do not have a sleep disorder such as crippling as hypersomnia, but you may consistently tired after normal daily activities and find ways to increase your energy level. The concept of course, diet and exercise are known to increase metabolism and help people become more energetic, but with mediation using brain entrainment you can supplement your diet and exercise program to the next plane.
